The Bolivar cigar brand pays tribute to Simon Bolivar, the Central American liberator. The cigars have the body and character of a Dominican blend. They have a Havano Medio Tiempo binder and an aged San Augustin Ligero wrapper. The Rocha Company introduced the Bolivar brand in 1901 in Havana, Cuba. In the 1950s, Ramón Cifuentes, of Partagas, began manufacturing the Bolivar brand. General Cigar Dominicana makes Bolivar cigars today in the Dominican Republic. |
